Ms. Rivera is an accomplished communications professional who is renowned and respected in business, media and political
circles. Her high-level experiences inside cabinet agencies, corporate boardrooms and political campaigns have distinguished her as an innovative developer of new communications models. With over twenty-four years experience, Ms. Rivera has unparalleled expertise developing effective communications strategies that achieve high-impact results. Having served at the Federal, state and local levels of government as an elected official in Alexandria, Virginia, a member of an education commission in Virginia and a presidential appointee in the Clinton Administration, Ms. Rivera has a unique perspective of government. Ms. Rivera was named Education Advocate of the Year in 2009 by Tenants and Workers United for her leadership in advocating for the Hispanic community and eliminating achievement gaps in public education.
Utilizing her strong communications skills combined with her rich business, government and international acumen, Ms. Rivera has made impressive contributions in her roles as a senior public relations executive at Hill & Knowlton; in the Clinton Administration where she served at senior-levels directing international trade and public affairs programs; as a senior executive at EDS (now HP Enterprise Services) where she led communications and public relations for the federal government division; and presently as Vice President of Communications and Investor Relations at Vangent, Inc. in Arlington, Virginia where she played an integral role in the sale of the company from Pearson plc to a private equity firm, Veritas Capital, in February 2007.
Ms. Rivera has extensive experience creating and implementing public relations, advertising and communications campaigns for diverse audiences, as well as superior management, budgeting and leadership skills.
