Michelle C. Ifill

Michelle C. Ifill is Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Verizon Business. In this role Ms. Ifill leads a team of attorneys and legal assistants that provide commercial legal advice and contract negotiation support for the over $12 billion in revenue generated by the Global Sales and Strategic Services business segment. In addition to overseeing the legal support for Verizon’s U.S. domestic enterprise business, Ms. Ifill also has responsibility for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. 

Her organization negotiates the service agreements that allow Verizon to deliver integrated solutions to optimize customer business outcomes by leveraging Verizon’s global professional services capabilities and broad portfolio of advanced communications, IT, security and networking solutions.

Ms. Ifill originally joined MCI (acquired by Verizon in January 2006) in 1993 as a Global Accounts staff attorney. During the ensuing decade, her management role and responsibilities steadily increased and she has provided legal support for the Global Investments, Corporate National Accounts, Call Center Services, Specialized Services and the Enhanced Integration Sales channels. In her role as legal Director, Corporate National Accounts, Ms. Ifill was instrumental in integrating and streamlining the contracting functions and process during the 1998 merger between MCI and WorldCom. Ms. Ifill also provided strategic direction and counsel to the merging business units.

Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Ifill was a corporate law associate specializing in securities, technology agreements and international business transactions with the New York firms of White & Case and Schnader, Harrison, Segal & Lewis, respectively.

Ms. Ifill is fluent in French, an Arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers, a founding member of the MCI Legal Diversity Council, a member of the Corporate Counsel Women of Color, the National Bar Association and on the Executive Board of the Westchester Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Inc, a national non-profit organization dedicated to the interests of children.

Ms. Ifill received her law degree from Harvard Law School and her undergraduate degree from Brown University.

Ms. Ifill lives in Westchester County, New York with her husband and two children.
