Christopher A. Pilaro

Chris Pilaro is a filmmaker, photographer and environmentalist who has been producing documentary films since 1994. Most recently, Pilaro co-directed and produced The Greater Good (Current TV 2012) that explores the fear, hype and politics that polarize people into emotionally charged pro-vaccine or anti-vaccine camps with no room for middle ground. Pilaro also produced Everything’s Cool (Sundance Channel 2007) that takes an in-depth look at climate change, human nature and how we ended up in this crisis in the first place. Pilaro was the field producer on the Sundance award winning film Blue Vinyl (HBO 2002) that focused on PVC, health and the environment. Pilaro was the associate producer on the Emmy nominated film Children in America’s Schools with Bill Moyers (PBS 1996) that focused on the inequalities of funding for public education. When not making movies, Pilaro is a freelance photographer focusing on social, political and environmental issues and lives with his family in Idaho.

Pilaro is the chairman of the CAP Charitable Foundation, on the National Council of the Environmental Defense Fund, President of the Nordic and Backcountry Skiers Alliance of Idaho, on the board of Working Films and is an active member in his community.
