The Council awards a minimum of three resident fellow positions and internships annually to Ron Brown Scholar Alumni. Research fellows and interns work on a variety of research projects in support of the Council’s ongoing research agenda. They are active participants and help to develop research plans as well as implement them. Fellows are assigned individual projects to work on and are also involved in larger group projects.
Research fellow positions generally last one year and begin between June and August of each year. Research internships last one to three months and are usually completed during the Ron Brown Scholar’s sophomore or junior year of college. Applicants must be able to handle multiple projects while meeting all deadlines. As positions are limited, preference will be given to those with an interest in community service; an interest in public policy and research; research skills and a willingness to learn; the ability to work independently and collaboratively; excellent writing skills; and an interest in and ability to act as a liaison to matriculating Ron Brown Scholars and Alumni.
