Shavonne joined Capital One in 2001 after spending 5 years as a Systems and Database Analyst in manufacturing at DuPont and EDS. She spent five of her ten years at Capital One in the Information Technology department as a Business Systems Analyst, Project Manager, and Technical Lead before moving to Operations. In Operations, Shavonne created and managed a Project Management Office and the daily operations of our Prepaid and Affinities businesses before joining Bank Operations as a Chief of Staff. For the past 3 years, Shavonne has been a program manager and Agile Portfolio Coach for our Digital IT – now Card IT organization, working to deliver critical projects to further Capital One’s Digital agenda.
Shavonne decided to join HR-Recruiting in November of 2014 after years of partnering with the organization to follow her passion for recruiting great talent to Capital One. She is now our Director of Diversity Recruiting, responsible for recruiting top diverse talent into the company. She is also the sponsor for the Technology and Project Management intern and full time programs at the University of Virginia.
In 2009, Shavonne was featured in Working Mother magazine where she discussed some of the great benefits Capital One offers to working mothers. For 6 consecutive years, Capital One has been recognized by Working Mother Magazine as one of the “Best 100 Companies for Working Mothers.” Shavonne is an active member of Women’s and African American Networks at Capital One, and is a member of the Steering Committee for the African American Network. She is also a member of the University of Virginia and Howard University campus recruiting teams.
Shavonne is a graduate of the University of Virginia and holds a degree in Systems Engineering. She resides in Glen Allen with her husband John and her two girls Kennedy (10) and Simone (6).Back to www.ronbrown.org
